Just because our Delivery Technicians are the final stop on the delivery journey, it doesn’t mean they are last on our list.
This week’s focus is on our Delivery Technicians, what makes them so special and why good technicians are not only good for our business, but yours too.
Part of the family
Let’s get right to the point – we are proud of all of our technicians, be they employed by us, or part of our Trusted Local Partner Network.
All of our technicians and partners are considered as part of the Product Care family and we treat them as such. We invest in our people from their first day in the business and continue to support them throughout their careers with us. Not only do we do this because we think it’s the right thing to do, but we understand that a happy technician equals a happy customer too.
Our story
Product Care was born from a realisation that there was a gap in the market for a truly specialised delivery and white-glove service. After a few setbacks with outsourcing we understood that if we wanted to deliver a truly customer focused service, we would have to bring our delivery and installation service in-house and under our control.
So that’s what we did.
Our Driver Excellence Programme
We’re proud of our story and the fact that we can say the person who delivered our very first delivery and install now heads up our in-house training academy.
Our Driver Excellence Programme is designed to give our Delivery Technicians all the skills they’ll need when out on the road. All technicians undertake an intensive two-week training programme with both practical and classroom learning. We’ve created an 8-module syllabus that covers;
Health and Safety incl. manual handling
Vehicle, Load Prep and Debrief
Driving Standards and Vehicle Maintenance
Product Knowledge and Installation
Equipment and Tools
Customer Service Excellence
Commercial Awareness and Asset Recovery
Systems
We also run regular refresher sessions to keep them informed of best practices. We use this as an opportunity to gain feedback on what they think works and how we can get better – meaning our service is constantly under review.
Further training and opportunity
We want to help our driver technicians develop and learn new skills. That’s why we offer further training courses to give them any extra hard skills they need. Training courses offered include;
Supervisor Module
Hardwired Installations
Integrated Appliance Installations
Appliance Repairs
Bespoke Handling/Installation
